MailMonitor

MailMonitor provides a solution to the threat of email viruses. It checks all emails passing through gateways, providing an extra layer of protection against email viruses. The software detects and disinfects viruses in email - including those in attachments compressed with Zip and other compression utilities. It also has features that give administrators complete control over their networks.

Once installed, MailMonitor operates in three modes:

• Immediate: virus scans mailboxes and databases on demand
• Scheduled: virus scans mailboxes and databases on specific days and times
• Real-time: intercepts and scans email attachments as they are sent or received

MailMonitor software has the following features:

• Protects WANs and LANs from viruses at the gateway
• Detects, disinfects or quarantines viruses in incoming and outgoing email
• Allows multiple scheduled jobs to be configured for automatic scanning of Exchange 2000 and Notes mailboxes
• Provides automatic centralized reporting of virus incidents
• Detects viruses in compressed attachments, including recursive archives
• Detects polymorphic viruses using Sophos's advanced Virus Description Language and a built-in code emulator
• Alerts administrators, senders and intended recipients on receipt of virus infected email
• Allows remote administration
• Allows constant automated web-based download of the latest virus updates via Sophos's Enterprise Manager software
• Includes 24-hour support, 365 days a year
